Like an American super hero, the Corvette has been winning over hearts for generations. With the release of the much anticipated C7 Corvette around the corner, we have to admit this current platform will be missed. It’s a true performer no matter which version you get. With the aftermarket support being so abundant for Corvettes, we immediately began narrowing down our options. IA Project M47 started life as a regular C6 Corvette Convertible. Huge transformations took place, from the power plant to the chasis and aesthetics. Upon arrival at our door step, this once silver convertible sat on a set of tired chrome Savini 3pc wheels. We knew from the get go they had to be retired. When looking at wheel options, we decided light weight and wide would be of ought most importance. However, the narrow body of the regular C6 doesn’t allow a 20×13 wheel width we envisioned. So we set out to order a factory wide body kit from the 2012 Corvette Grand Sport model. With the new front bumper, front and rear fenders installed, we were then able to work with the fine folks at PUR wheels to come up with a 20×13 fitment which would support massive stream roller size 345/25/20 tires out rear. We chose PUR design 4OUR in a stealthy high gloss black finish to match the new gloss black paint job on the car. After many extensive engine bolt-ons added, suspension tweaks and full race exhaust front to back, we were satisfied this Vette now had a bark to match its intimidating stance.
